Does my coverage extend to a rental vehicle?
Your taking a trip to Hawaii and you want to rent a car. Do you need to buy the rental car company's collision damage waiver for $20 a day or does your insurance company provide coverage for the rental? As long as you have liability and comprehensive and collision on one of your cars, your coverage should extend to the rental. But, if you are in an accident in the rental you will be subject to your deductibles just like it was your own car.
Another thing to consider is that if you buy the damage waiver from the rental company, there is usually no deductible and the accident should not go on your driving record. Make sure you check with the rental company first.
